‘£25’000 FOR A DEPUTY PM’, GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE…SOLD!!!!!

Good Morning,

I just had to share with you all this absolute fascinating and disturbing article published today by The Independent, tilted ‘Join Clegg’s ‘Leader’s Club’-for £25,000 annual fee’ (this can be found here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/join-cleggs-leaders-club-ndash-for-16325000-annual-fee-2269225.html).

The point of the article is the new ‘cash for favours’, or as the article puts it, ‘cash for access’, that opening ‘direct lines of (as stated in the articles) ”unrivalled networking opportunities” for ‘leading’ westminster lobbyists with the centre of british political power. There is also the mention of the event of this new ‘club’ was ‘organised’ by ”the veteran handshaker Peter Bingle, chairman of Bell Pottinger Public Affairs”. Bell Pottinger is a notorious powerful and very scandal-ridden Westminster Lobbying Firm (you start to get the picture).

“We are in Government for the first time in almost 70 years and are playing a central role in creating a fairer and more prosperous Britain. I’d like to invite you to join the debate … My colleagues and I want to listen to you and to continue this dialogue.”

Above is a direct quotation from the document seen by the PRWeek, quoting, a former lobbyists and present deputy prime minister, ‘opening the power market’, to his ‘fellow colleagues”. That’s Politics for you. But wont be fair to argue against without hearing what the spin-machine at the LibDems HQ had to say;

The Liberal Democrats denied the allegation of cash for access. A spokeswoman said: “Far from it being about access or influence it is an opportunity for us as a party to discuss and explain what we are doing in government and to stimulate conversation on various issues within group settings.”

I HOPE YOU ALL FIND THIS AS IMPORTANT AND DISTURBING AS MYSELF DO.
